Tanya Bonakdar Gallery is pleased to present its first solo exhibition of work by Jason Meadows. Combining conceptual, two-dimensional, theatrical and technological space with images of stand-up comics, pornographic film stars, crashing airplanes, jungle cats, generic furniture and super-heroes, Meadows' sculptures explore simultaneity.

Meadows re-contextualizes materials as varied as painted wood, chicken wire, aluminum, plexi- glass, basketball nets and generic modular shelving units. Like the work itself, the materials synthesize their relationship between form and content and intentionally suspend them somewhere in between.

Imagery and material are inseparable from their context in Meadows' constructions. Together, these three elements are synthesized into a simultaneous experience of the work.

Last year, Jason Meadows was featured in Mise en Scene, Santa Monica Museum of Art, Santa Monica and TRI-ANNUALE (Part 3): Pinwheel, Los Angeles Contempory Exhibitions, Los Angeles
