Sabine Hornig’s sculptures, photographs and installations transform the viewer’s experience of the built environment to reveal the kaleidoscopic layers of meaning that hide in plain sight. By overlapping photographs taken from different perspectives, inverting images, and dramatically altering their scale and dimension, Hornig blurs the boundaries between pictorial and real space, a three-dimensional double exposure. On a monumental scale, Hornig’s images engage their architectural surroundings to challenge and expand our perceptions of the urban landscape.
