Teresa Hubbard and Alexander Birchler have been working collaboratively in video, photography and sculpture since 1990. The artists draw inspiration from the early history of film and photography to investigate relationships between architecture and narrative, character and environment; psychic and physical space. In their public projects and monumental installations, Hubbard and Birchler further probe these relationships, highlighting the historical, psychological, and cinematic residue that coat the built environment, and shape our perceptions.
