Tanya Bonakdar Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of seventeen new works by the sculptor, Charles Long, in a range of materials including bronze, styrofoam, aluminum, concrete, and a sculpting medium he created by recycling coffee grounds.

Continuing Long's concerns for the wholeness and distension of the singular mass, these abstract spontaneous forms were inspired by the casually dismissed objects that furnish interior landscapes.  The show as a whole has a domestic veneer that both hides and reveals the dark side of the every day.  Some of the pieces incorporate furniture or resemble it.  Others may be difficult to place but still feel right at home.  The coffee ground medium completes a cozy domestic scene  while playfully undermining it in its scatological evocation.
