Suzu, located at the tip of the Noto Peninsula, is a beautiful and rich Satoyama and Satoumi area designated as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS). With its natural environment as a backdrop, the distinctive vocations, lifestyles and traditional cultures of Japanese people have been handed down to this day, including "Agehama-style salt making method" "Aenokoto Ritual" registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and "Kiriko Festival" registered as Japanese Heritage. The Oku-noto Triennale brings together local residents and artists from around the world to create works of art that are unique to Suzu.
